Timon's Meerkat Colony is a dry, semi-barren, area, located far from the Pride Lands. A large group of meerkats lived here in underground tunnels and were hunted by Hyenas. Oddly, real meerkats are nothing like the cartoons. They fight back with some predators, and always have leaders. Also, in the movie, it seems that no one leads the group, and they seem to be afraid of their own shadows. Also, meerkats are not hunted by hyenas, who are scavengers.
