"This Is My Home" is a musical piece composed by Hans Zimmer for The Lion King. It is the underscore that plays as Simba returns to the Pride Lands and finds it decimated under Scar's reign.

Overview

"This Is My Home" was initially released on the complete film score under the title "Homeward Bound". However, the album was retracted after one day. On June 24, 2014, The Legacy Collection: The Lion King was released, with "Homeward Bound" having been remixed and titled "This Is My Home".

Use

"This Is My Home" can be heard from when Simba runs across the desert en route to the Pride Lands to directly after he is joined by Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa to reclaim his kingdom.

Trivia

  • A version of the first part of this score can be heard in The Lion King 1½, when Pumbaa parodies Simba's run across the desert in the first film.
