Leopards are hungry creatures, just like lion cubs. But if you are too greedy, you may end up in trouble – just like this leopard.
Rafiki

The Greedy Guest is a story from the Rafiki Remembers magazine collection. It was published in the 1990s as part of The Lion King: A Nature Fun and Learn Series.

Synopsis

Leopard is caught in a trap until a buck comes along and sets him free. After thanking the buck for his kindness, Leopard begs his savior for a bite to eat, and the buck takes him to his house, where Leopard turns his nose up at greens and requests he be brought meat. Being a good host, the buck gives Leopard a hen from outside. This persists for several days, and when the buck runs out of hens and goats to give his guest, Leopard asks to eat one of the buck's children, to which the buck agrees.

After eating the buck's wife and his children, Leopard attempts to eat his host, but the buck manages to escape unharmed. While on the run from Leopard, the buck encounters a hare, who agrees to help him escape Leopard. When Leopard finally catches up to his quarry, the hare announces that he will play the role as judge and tells Leopard to show him how he had been caught in the snare that the buck had freed him from. Leopard ties himself up in the snare, and the buck and the hare bound off without freeing him.
