"Scar & Zazu - What Did You Say?" is a musical piece composed by Hans Zimmer for The Lion King. It is the underscore that plays during the throne room exchange between Scar and Zazu.

Overview

"Scar & Zazu - What Did You Say?" was first released as part of the complete film score, though the album was retracted after one day. On June 24, 2014, The Legacy Collection: The Lion King was released, with "Scar & Zazu - What Did You Say?" having been remixed and titled "We Gotta Bone to Pick With You".

Use

"Scar & Zazu - What Did You Say?" first picks up as Scar chastises Zazu for using Mufasa's name and ends as the hyenas complain to Scar about the lack of food and water in the Pride Lands.

Trivia

  • The score reuses several themes from other scores, such as the faster-paced notes from "Elephant Graveyard".
  • In the film, the first section omits the powerful gong scrape and the final section of score.
