"Scar's Dinner" is a musical piece composed by Hans Zimmer for The Lion King. It is the underscore that plays during Scar's conversation with his brother, Mufasa.

Overview

"Scar's Dinner" was first released as part of the complete film score. However, the album was retracted after a single day. On June 24, 2014, The Legacy Collection: The Lion King was released, with "Scar's Dinner" having been remixed and released under the title "Didn't Your Mother Tell You Not to Play With Your Food".

Use

The track is first heard after the "Circle of Life" sequence, when Scar is toying with a mouse beneath Pride Rock. The exact composition in this track was not used in the film, though it does share similarities with its replacement. The second part of the track was dialed out of the film, but would have scored the conversation between Scar and his brother, Mufasa.
