―Mayika on Timon[src]

Mayika is a female monkey. She is the mate of Mayik, with whom she has a son, Haari.

When Haari went missing, Mayik brought Mayika a replacement son, Timon. However, Timon's friends arrived and tried to dissuade the monkeys from holding the meerkat hostage. When the trio learned that Haari had gone missing, they accompanied the monkeys on a journey to find him. Eventually, they located him, and he was reunited with his parents.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Mayika lived in the jungle. At some point in her life, she became mates with Mayik, and the two had a son named Haari.[1]

Searching for Haari[]

When Haari went missing, Mayik brought a replacement son, Timon, to Mayika. Upon seeing the meerkat, Mayika embraced him lovingly and took him in as her new child. Unwilling to let their friend go, Simba and Pumbaa tried to claim Timon back, but Mayika sobbed that her son, Haari, had been lost in the jungle and that she could not live without a child to care for. Simba immediately volunteered to help look for the child, and Mayika agreed to go out with him right away. Despite his mate's eagerness, Mayik forbid her to search until she had rested.

The next morning, when the search went underway, Timon accidentally called Haari "Hairy," which infuriated Mayika. Nevertheless, the search continued, and after a few hours, Mayika and her mate brought food for the search party. With no bugs included in the pile of food, Timon and Pumbaa were dissatisfied and targeted a giant snail named Slippy. The snail, however, proved helpful and pointed the party in the direction of the missing Haari.

The monkeys learned that Haari had been missing ever since a snake had promised to take him back to his parents. Setting off in search of Haari, the group soon reached the cave where Haari was trapped, and Simba fell inside. When Mayika reached in to pull him out, she was reunited with her son, who was delighted to see her.[1]

Physical appearance[]

Mayika is a slender monkey. She has orange fur, with a cream chest and cream fur ringing her head. Her hands and the top of her head are pink, and her face, ears, and eyes are brown.[1]

Personality and traits[]

Maternal and motherly, Mayika is a natural caregiver. Her main concern is for her young, and she is protective of even her adoptive child, Timon. She can also be very touchy about her children, such as when she yelled at Timon for simply mispronouncing her son's name.[1]
