Hey, look. We are one.
Kovu to Kiara[src]

"Love Will Find a Way" is a song composed by Tom Snow for The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. It was released on September 8, 1998, as part of the film's soundtrack.

Conception and development[]

In the 1996 draft of The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, "Love Will Find a Way" did not immediately precede Kovu's exile from the Pride Lands. Instead, Kiara (then-named Aisha) found Kovu, only to discover his role in Zira's plot to kill Simba, and the couple broke up. After meeting with Rafiki, Aisha learned of Kovu's banishment from his pride and searched for him, which led to the song. Several locations that the couple visited were explored during the song, and finally, they reunited in a crystal cavern.[1]

In the original VHS workprint of the film, "Love Will Find a Way" was presented as a piano uplift.[2]

Kovu and Kiara reunite during the "Love Will Find a Way" sequence.

"Love Will Find a Way" is the sixth and final song heard in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. It starts after Simba exiles Kovu from the Pride Lands and Kiara searches in vain to find him. At last, after giving up her search, she begins to roam the Pride Lands by night, during which she laments the state of her romance with Kovu. Eventually, Kovu spots Kiara on a hill and resolves to reinitiate their relationship. Delighted, the two reunite and embrace under a full moon.[8]

Lyrics[]

Kiara:
In a perfect world
One we've never known
We would never need to face the world alone
They can have the world
We'll create our own
I may not be brave or strong or smart
But somewhere in my secret heart
I know
Love will find a way
Anywhere I go
I'm home
If you are there beside me
Like dark turning into day
Somehow, we'll come through
Now that I've found you
Love will find a way

Kovu:
I was so afraid
Now I realize
Love is never wrong
And so it never dies
There's a perfect world
Shining in your eyes

Both:
And if only they could feel it too
The happiness I feel with you
They'd know
Love will find a way
Anywhere we go
We're home
If we are there together
Like dark turning into day
Somehow we'll come through
Now that I've found you
Love will find a way
I know love will find a way
