Jason Marsden is an American voice actor for numerous animated films, television series, and video games. He voiced Kovu in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and reprised the role for The Lion Guard.

Biography[]

Marsden was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to Linda and Myles Marsden. His family moved to from Rhode Island to Fullerton, California in August 1985 when he was 10. Marsden was discovered by producer Bud Barth of Del Mar Media Arts, and signed on his first major role in Robot Jox as Tommy. During that same time, he became the third actor to play Alan Quartermaine, Jr., in the American soap opera, General Hospital to which he continued for two years, while still attending elementary school.

At the same time, he also had his first voice acting role as Cavin in Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears, as well as being the young announcer of the 1990s revival of The Mickey Mouse Club and other Disney informercials. Marsden continued his voice acting career as Goofy's son, Max Goof, in the animated film, A Goofy Movie, and reprised his role in its sequel and Disney's House of Mouse.

Since his last appearance in Step by Step in 1998, Marsden still continues providing voices for numerous animated television shows and movies. He did the voice of young adult Kovu in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride as well as narrated the bonus features found on The Lion King DVD releases. Marsden also reprised his role as Kovu for the Disney Junior series The Lion Guard.
