Wasp once looked as fat and round as Bee. But something happened to give him a waist – let me explain.
Rafiki

How Wasp got his Waist is a story from the Rafiki Remembers magazine collection. It was published in the 1990s as part of The Lion King: A Nature Fun and Learn Series.

Synopsis

Wasp has a large farm that is too large for him to weed by himself, so he decides to throw a weeding party. The first friend he invites is Corn, who tells Wasp that he will come so long as Chicken is not invited. Though Wasp promises not to do so, he invites Chicken to the party, and Chicken tells him not to invite Eagle. Wasp gives his word not to invite Eagle, but does so anyway after bumping into Eagle. Eagle agrees to come to the party, but only if Hunter is not there. Wasp promises that Hunter will not be there, but proceeds to invite him against Eagle's wishes.

Hunter tells Wasp that he will come if Snake is not there, and Wasp asserts that Snake will not come. However, he invites Snake, who insists that Stick should not come. Wasp promises not to invite Stick, but extends an invitation to him anyway. This goes on, with Wasp also inviting Fire, Water, and Sun.

When the party at last comes, the guests immediately break into quarreling, so Wasp ties each of them to his waist to keep them from leaving. The fighting becomes so intense that Chicken eats Corn, Eagle eats Chicken, Hunter shoots Eagle, Snake bites Hunter, Stick beats Snake to death, Fire burns Stick, Water puts out Fire, and Sun dries up Water. In the fray, Wasp is pulled to and fro, and his waist stretches enormously.
