Rita Book is a female human.

Biography[]

Gas leak[]

When Timon and Pumbaa critiqued the chicken at a restaurant, Rita Book gathered with several people to watch. Just then, a Zebanesan chef warned the shoppers about a gas leak and told them that they must leave the mall immediately.[1]

Time as a librarian[]

When Timon and Pumbaa entered a library, Rita Book continually shushed them. While at the library, the duo tried to catch and eat a bookworm, which resulted in Book kicking them out for making too much noise. She also hit a bluebird over the head with her book when the animal started singing on a windowsill. Later, after Timon, Pumbaa, and the bookworm got injured and were sent to a hospital, Book emerged as a nurse.[2]

Maze of Challenges[]

When Pumbaa entered the Maze of Challenges, he ran into a hungry wolverine. Pumbaa ran away, and the wolverine chased him, only to get slowed by several obstacles. One was Rita Book, who threw her book at him.[3]

Physical appearance[]

Rita Book is an elderly human. She has fair skin as well as gray hair that she wears in a bun. She wears large tinted glasses and a collared shirt.[1]

Personality and traits[]

Rita Book is cranky and mean-spirited. Since she is a librarian, she likes peace and quiet, and does not tolerate visitors who speak too loudly or knock over signs. Occasionally, she uses physical force to subdue her enemies, as seen when she hit Timon and Pumbaa with a baseball bat and when she threw her book at the wolverine.[1][3]

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • Rita Book's name is a wordplay on the sentence "Read a book."[2]
