Great-Fighter is a male lion.
Great-Fighter wandered into the Pride Lands, where he was struck by a meteor. Simba witnessed the crash and believed Great-Fighter to be a fallen Great King of the Past. At first, Great-Fighter was loath to perpetuate the lie, but when Simba offered to bring him food, he decided not to correct the misunderstanding. He then used his status as a Great King of the Past to get more food and even told extravagant, made-up stories about his reign as king. Eventually, two parrots began to interrogate Great-Fighter about his reign, and he fled before his identity could be exposed. Before departing the Pride Lands, he saved Simba from a crocodile, which left the cub in awe.

Great-Fighter is hit by a meteor.
Great-Fighter wandered into the Pride Lands in search of food, as he was starving and had no family to take care of him. Just then, a small meteor crashed into him. Simba, the prince of the Pride Lands, witnessed the crash and immediately rushed over to see what had happened. As he approached the crater, he saw Great-Fighter climbing out of the hole. The cub excitedly came to the conclusion that Great-Fighter was a Great King of the Past who had fallen from the sky and so bowed before him. Great-Fighter believed Simba was crazy and tried to slink away, but Simba protested and asked Great-Fighter if he could at least stay to eat. Great-Fighter's yearning for food stopped him dead in his tracks, and Simba offered to fetch him something to eat.
When Simba returned with a hunk of meat, Great-Fighter tucked into the meal and began to make up a story about his false reign as king in the hopes that he would continue to receive food. Simba was oblivious to the lie and reacted with amazement to Great-Fighter's tale. However, Great-Fighter told the cub that he was on a very secret mission, then warned him not to tell anyone about his visit to the Pride Lands, especially not his father Mufasa.

Two days later, Mufasa became suspicious of his son, for Simba had been strangely absent and distant. He sent his majordomo, Zazu, to see where Simba was going. The hornbill soon spotted Simba with Great-Fighter, who was telling another made-up story about his reign as king. Great-Fighter bragged about a great battle he had been in and claimed that he had earned his name because of how well he had fought. Zazu figured out that Great-Fighter was lying and promptly went back to report to Mufasa. At first, Mufasa was outraged and wanted to drive Great-Fighter out for good, but Zazu advised against this, as Simba would see it as Mufasa driving out an ancient ancestor. He told Mufasa that it would be best if Simba figured matters out on his own.
After his conversation with Zazu, Mufasa sent two parrots to visit Great-Fighter. The pair asked him if he was an ancient king who had fallen from the stars, and he confirmed so. The parrots then claimed to know all about the Great Kings of the Past and asked him several questions, which he was unable to answer correctly. Afraid that Simba would find out he was a fake, Great-Fighter started to slink away, but the cub ran after him and begged him to stay. Great-Fighter insisted that he must go and then leaped across a river in order to lose the cub. As Simba followed him across the stream, he was attacked by a crocodile. Zazu, who was flying overhead, rushed to get Mufasa, but when he returned with Mufasa at his side, Simba was standing safely on the bank of the river. The cub claimed that Great-Fighter had saved him from the crocodile before leaving the Pride Lands and then proceeded to tell his father all of Great-Fighter's stories.[1]

Due to being a rogue, Great-Fighter is disheveled and scruffy, particularly in regions such as his chin, his elbow joints, and the base of his tail. Additionally, he is so skinny that his ribs are visible. Great-Fighter's main pelt is golden-brown, while his chest, muzzle, and paws are tan. His mane and tail-tip, both of which are quite scraggly, are russet-red, and his eyes are golden-brown. He has two unusual features: a freckled muzzle and frontward mane hairs that curl forward.[1]

Great-Fighter is a rogue who highly values food. He often takes desperate measures to eat, as he was willing to deceive Simba and risk Mufasa's wrath in order to score a meal. He can be deceptive and untrustworthy, and even takes pleasure in his lies, building grand stories that portray him as a hero. Despite this, he is brave and good-hearted, as he saved Simba from a crocodile.[1]
