Biography

Hibbert was born in Long Island, New York, the son of actor Geoffrey Hibbert.[1] He was brought up in Surrey, England[2], where he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Hibbert returned to New York in the mid-1980s.[3]

Back in New York, Hibbert appeared on Broadway and in major regional theatre productions,[4] with his debut in Alice in Wonderland as a gryphon. In 1993, he won an Obie Award for his co-starring role as Sterling in the play, Jeffrey, written by Paul Rudnick.[5] His most recent role on Broadway was as Mr. Praed in Roundabout Theatre's 2010 production of Mrs. Warren's Profession with Cherry Jones.[6][2]

Aside from his theater career, Hibbert played Gil Chesterton on NBC's Frasier, and appeared in films such as Taking Woodstock, The Prestige, The Paper, Everyone Says I Love You, and The First Wives Club.[6] Along with this, Hibbert voiced Zazu in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and The Lion King 1½, replacing Rowan Atkinson.

Hibbert has also worked as a literary agent, and a partner in the literary agency, Donadio & Olsen, Inc.
