Dining Out with Timon & Pumbaa is a home video inspired by The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa. It was first released on VHS on August 15, 1997, then it got rereleased on VHS and DVD on March 14, 2005. Unlike the first volume Around the World with Timon & Pumbaa, the home video has no cut scenes, making it be basically a compilation of six episodes from the television series. It is also the second of three volume compilations about Timon and Pumbaa. The other two are Around the World with Timon & Pumbaa and On Holiday with Timon & Pumbaa.

Information

1997 release

"Lion King fans rejoice! Your favourite comedy team from Disney's epic animated Classic returns to star in their own ourageous adventures around the world! Follow wisecracking meerkat Timon and his trusty warthog pal Pumbaa on a feeding fenzy of action-packed fun from North America to the South Seas.

First stop - Paris! There, they plan to indulge in escargot, until their mouth-watering lunch becomes their newest friend. Next entrees? Chocolate-dipped beetles in Switzerland and fresh caviar in Russia - where Pumbaa gets roped into the Boarshoi Ballet!

Highlighted by the duo's gut-stirring rendition of the song 'Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I've Got Bugs In My Tummy,' DINING OUT WITH TIMON & PUMBAA is a delicious treat for Lion King lovers everywhere!"[1]

2005 re-release

"Set sail for France in 'French Fried' as the evil chef, Quint, tries to turn their snail friend into a tasty entree of escargot. It's on with the show and the dance tights when Pumbaa has to perform with the 'Boarshoi' ballet in 'Russia Hour.' Then, it's off 'To Kilimanjaro Bird' where the feathers fly when Timon and Pumbaa baby-sit a little eagle. Last stop, the U.S.A. in 'Rocky Mountain Lie.' Pumbaa makes friends with a stinkbug...that is, until Timon mistakes it for grub and eats it!"[2]
