Brad Garrett is an American stand-up comedian, actor, voice actor, and professional poker player. He voices Boss Beaver in The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa.



Garrett was initially a successful stand-up comedian in the early 1980s. Due to his success at that time, he began playing minor and guest roles and television and film. His first major role was in the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, as Robert Barone.

Garretts film roles include Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World, An Extremely Goofy Movie, Finding Nemo, Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Tangled, and many more.

Garrett has won three Primetime Emmy Awards, with three other nominations. He is still prominent within stand-up comedy and is also a professional poker player. Garrett is recognized for his imposing height of 6' 8.5", and his deep voice.

Personal life

Garrett is the son of Barbara (née Colton), a homemaker, and Albert "Al" Gerstenfeld, a hearing aid salesman.[1] He also has two older brothers named Jeff and Paul. Garrett attended George Ellery Hale Middle School and graduated from El Camino Real High School, which are both in Woodland Hills. He attended UCLA for less than two months before dropping out to pursue his comedy career.

On the set of Everybody Loves Raymond in 1998, Garrett proposed to his then-girlfriend named Jill Diven. They got married and had two children named Maxwell and Hope.[2] Garrett and Diven separated in 2005, and Diven filed for divorce in July 2006[3], which was finalized in November 2007.[4][5] As of December 2015, Garrett is currently engaged to long-time girlfriend, IsaBeall Quella.[6][7]
